Lindsay and Janet are delighted to report that they were asked to run assessment centre workshops at the National Graduate Recruitment Fair in Wembley and Birmingham in June. We were selected as recruitment and assessment specialists with considerable experience of running assessment centre activities. In addition, we have a wealth of experience designing recruitment programmes to assess graduates.

At the fairs, we ran a series of interactive workshops for graduates. We designed an exercise which allowed the graduates to practice their skills within a safe environment and get some feedback from qualified assessors. Over the course of 8 sessions we assessed 144 graduates.

We received some excellent feedback: most candidates reporting that they were much better prepared to undertake an assessment centre and were clearer about what to expect and what employers were looking for. Indeed, one graduate left us and promptly secured himself an interview with a Pharmaceuticals company on a neighbouring stand!

Resourcing Matters plans to participate in the next Recruitment Fairs in Wembley in October 2005 and the NEC in November 2005.
